Beautiful Creatures

4 out of 5 Stars

This is another new movie that has come out in the last year. I had not heard of it until I saw it featured in Redbox. So I had my husband pick up the movie, Beautiful Creatures. It is a love story about a castor who falls in love with a mortal.

There are a lot of interesting effects and several twists that keep it interesting. It also has some really good acting and a couple well-known actors. It has some very suspenseful moments and I was interested to discover that it is based on a book series.

I plan to buy all of the books in the series and read them all. I hope that they continue making movies off of the rest of the series because I am definitely interested. This is another movie that I highly recommend for both men and women.

Warm Bodies Movie Review

Warm Bodies

4 out of 5 Stars

One of the new movies that has recently come out is Warm Bodies. It is a zombie love story where he slowly turns back into human again.

I have seen the trailers and advertisements and wanted to watch it in theaters but never managed to get around to it, but I was anxious to watch this one.

When it finally came out on Redbox, I used one of my free rental codes to check out this movie.

The movie did not have an extreme amount of expensive graphics, but the acting was very good and the story was well put together. I highly recommend this movie for love story or zombie story lovers. I think it should be good for either men or women.

Dish Network Venting

Okay, so I just really need to vent about my current frustration with Dish Network right now. I am not slandering, I am not telling you to not use them, and even though I am generally satisfied with the company, I am frustrated right now.

So, here is the deal.

I woke up a couple of days ago and suddenly there is no signal to the satellite and I cannot watch Dish. Not a HUGE deal for me because I only have it to entertain the hubby and so that I can watch recorded episodes of House, my favorite series.

So I gave it a day or two and when it still did not work, I called the customer service line. They walked me through something called a switch test and they decided that I would require a tech to come see me. Then they tell me that I don't have a protection plan and so it will cost me $95 or I can sign up for the protection plan for seven dollars a month PLUS pay a $15 fee for them to come out there. So, my $115 a month bill does not cover for someone to come look at my satellite and tell me what's wrong? WOW, what great customer service if you ask me.

Now, if I had been told that I needed this protection plan to avoid paying $95 to have my satellite looked at, then I would not have been so angry. But I wasn't told about this little detail, so the surprise really angered me. So I had rounds with these people, I kept having to ask for somebody else because no one could give me a good answer. No, I don't want to sign up for this stinking plan when I am already tight on money because of NECESSARY expenses (electric, gas, food, baby stuff, car payment, etc) and I was not going to pay the $95 fee to have someone look at their equipment.

So I eventually got someone to make me somewhat happy, after pissing off a few people who were rude to me to start with (I only get snippy if I have to).

As if that were not enough to lead me to a rough week, the tech comes this morning (before the scheduled time, so I had to get my happy butt out of bed and I have been so wore out lately-my husband swears I am pregnant again, but I am not) and he asks what the problem is. I say "It says there is no signal. I can't remember exactly what it says." I am half asleep here, so my mind is still so foggy.

So, next thing, the two men start looking at things. The one with the long hair says, "The cable has been chewed through. This is customer damage." In a short snippy tone and escapes outside. My mouth is wide open as I am processing his sudden and unexplained rudeness to me. When he comes back inside finally (he kept sending the other guy back in as if he could avoid me) and so I tell him there is no reason for him to be rude to me. I am a young woman living at home, my husband is at work, I know how to take care of myself. Don't make me sick my dog on you buddy!

He says then that he was not being rude, he was just telling me that next time, even if I have the protection plan that I would still have to pay the $95 fee because they won't cover that.....Okay, so why didn't you say it that way in the first place? That would not have come across rude to me. The other way that he said it came across to me as it was all my fault. Well, they are the idiots who put the cord so low that my daughter would tug on and play with if she was old enough to play outside.

Granted, I know that the puppy did it and I am so angry at the darn thing for it, but I don't appreciate being talked down on and being blamed. Customer service would mean that they should inform me, not blame me. So, that was my frustrating experience.
