Beautiful Creatures

4 out of 5 Stars

This is another new movie that has come out in the last year. I had not heard of it until I saw it featured in Redbox. So I had my husband pick up the movie, Beautiful Creatures. It is a love story about a castor who falls in love with a mortal.

There are a lot of interesting effects and several twists that keep it interesting. It also has some really good acting and a couple well-known actors. It has some very suspenseful moments and I was interested to discover that it is based on a book series.

I plan to buy all of the books in the series and read them all. I hope that they continue making movies off of the rest of the series because I am definitely interested. This is another movie that I highly recommend for both men and women.

Warm Bodies Movie Review

Warm Bodies

4 out of 5 Stars

One of the new movies that has recently come out is Warm Bodies. It is a zombie love story where he slowly turns back into human again.

I have seen the trailers and advertisements and wanted to watch it in theaters but never managed to get around to it, but I was anxious to watch this one.

When it finally came out on Redbox, I used one of my free rental codes to check out this movie.

The movie did not have an extreme amount of expensive graphics, but the acting was very good and the story was well put together. I highly recommend this movie for love story or zombie story lovers. I think it should be good for either men or women.

Dish Network Venting

Okay, so I just really need to vent about my current frustration with Dish Network right now. I am not slandering, I am not telling you to not use them, and even though I am generally satisfied with the company, I am frustrated right now.

So, here is the deal.

I woke up a couple of days ago and suddenly there is no signal to the satellite and I cannot watch Dish. Not a HUGE deal for me because I only have it to entertain the hubby and so that I can watch recorded episodes of House, my favorite series.

So I gave it a day or two and when it still did not work, I called the customer service line. They walked me through something called a switch test and they decided that I would require a tech to come see me. Then they tell me that I don't have a protection plan and so it will cost me $95 or I can sign up for the protection plan for seven dollars a month PLUS pay a $15 fee for them to come out there. So, my $115 a month bill does not cover for someone to come look at my satellite and tell me what's wrong? WOW, what great customer service if you ask me.

Now, if I had been told that I needed this protection plan to avoid paying $95 to have my satellite looked at, then I would not have been so angry. But I wasn't told about this little detail, so the surprise really angered me. So I had rounds with these people, I kept having to ask for somebody else because no one could give me a good answer. No, I don't want to sign up for this stinking plan when I am already tight on money because of NECESSARY expenses (electric, gas, food, baby stuff, car payment, etc) and I was not going to pay the $95 fee to have someone look at their equipment.

So I eventually got someone to make me somewhat happy, after pissing off a few people who were rude to me to start with (I only get snippy if I have to).

As if that were not enough to lead me to a rough week, the tech comes this morning (before the scheduled time, so I had to get my happy butt out of bed and I have been so wore out lately-my husband swears I am pregnant again, but I am not) and he asks what the problem is. I say "It says there is no signal. I can't remember exactly what it says." I am half asleep here, so my mind is still so foggy.

So, next thing, the two men start looking at things. The one with the long hair says, "The cable has been chewed through. This is customer damage." In a short snippy tone and escapes outside. My mouth is wide open as I am processing his sudden and unexplained rudeness to me. When he comes back inside finally (he kept sending the other guy back in as if he could avoid me) and so I tell him there is no reason for him to be rude to me. I am a young woman living at home, my husband is at work, I know how to take care of myself. Don't make me sick my dog on you buddy!

He says then that he was not being rude, he was just telling me that next time, even if I have the protection plan that I would still have to pay the $95 fee because they won't cover that.....Okay, so why didn't you say it that way in the first place? That would not have come across rude to me. The other way that he said it came across to me as it was all my fault. Well, they are the idiots who put the cord so low that my daughter would tug on and play with if she was old enough to play outside.

Granted, I know that the puppy did it and I am so angry at the darn thing for it, but I don't appreciate being talked down on and being blamed. Customer service would mean that they should inform me, not blame me. So, that was my frustrating experience.

Puppy update #3

Well I hope the puppies are ready to wean by Mother's Day weekend and I am thinking that they just might be because they are starting to eat puppy chow and drink out of the water bowl.

Their mom Kierrah is pretty much sick of them. She spends most of her time in the bedroom hiding from them and try's to avoid them as much as possible. I feel bad for her but the sooner we can get them to new homes the better. They are trying to poop on the carpet and are barking and driving is a little insane. Comment below on your puppy experiences!

Puppy update #2

Just wanted to give a quick update on our puppies. A few days ago we noticed that their eyes were opening up and now we are thinking we are in trouble. We have them set up in a corner in our living room and there is only one way they can get out. Up until recently it has been fine but now I'm having to get up a couple of times in the night for my daughter plus a couple more times a night to save the hungry runaway puppies. They venture their way like five feet from mama and she will go check on them but won't pick them up or bring them back so they just lay there whining until I or my husband bring them back to their mama.

We have thought about closing it off more but then mama would have a hard time getting to them. Oh well not like we have anything to worry about them getting into anything. They are walking really well now too so I figure we would be giving them a small area of the house to roam around in soon anyway. Plus it is so cute to watch them as they are starting to get playful. They are growling at each other and play fighting. Adorable and slightly annoying.

Puppy Update!

Here are a couple of pictures of my Siberian husky's puppies. They are almost two weeks old now. Their dad was a husky and German Shepard mix and their mom is a full blood named Kierrah. They are already getting around all too well.

Shooting and Bombings Conspiracy Theory

As promised, I'm writing a post on my reaction to the recent shootings and bombing. I do not have a lot to say about it, because my reaction is typical. Anger, confusion, distrust, disbelief, and sadness. How can shoot an innocent child? How can someone bomb a group of people volunteering to help others in need? It is so despicable to think about what has been happening in our country. Everyone is so angry at each other when no one is to blame other than themselves.

There are, of course, theories out there that the government is involved. Are they? Are they not? Well if they are, then we will never know because they would take down anyone who speaks against them. I remember studying the Kennedy shooting extensively in High School history class. We all had to write a paper on our conclusion from all of the arguments we were presented and I may not remember much from my history class, but that one assignment is still etched in my brain. My conclusion was that it was a hoax. The government has so many connections, there is no way they will not be able to solve something that they want to solve.

Curious, after the recent bombing, there was a bomb threat on the FBI Building that was doing the investigating. This closed down the building and held off the investigation until is was considered safe. Just an interesting coincidence to me.

Anyway, like I said, I don't have a lot to say besides that if it were not a "government act" then this world is pretty much sick and twisted and I feel awful that my children will be growing up in this world. I will be teaching my kids every way possible to be able to protect themselves. Here is a link to a Youtube video my husband saw on Facebook about the conspiracy theory. It is lengthy, but he has a few interesting points. Click here to view it.
